About REB files

The .REB file extension primarily represents two distinct formats: a REBOL Script File or a Reimbursement Tracker Data File. REBOL (Relative Expression Based Object Language) scripts are plain text files containing source code used for cross-platform network communications and lightweight computing. They are executed by the REBOL interpreter. Alternatively, .REB files function as specialized data containers that store expense and financial records for the proprietary Reimbursement Tracker software. The main disadvantage of .REB files is their highly specialized and restrictive nature. For REBOL scripts, the code is entirely useless to a non-programmer without a specific runtime environment. For Reimbursement Tracker data, the format is a closed, proprietary database that locks your personal financial records into a single, specialized application. If you stop paying for the software or it becomes unsupported, accessing your own data becomes a major challenge. Users typically need to convert these files to accessible formats like CSV or XLSX for use in Microsoft Excel or standard TXT for script inspection. Converting these files is notoriously difficult for standard online tools. Reimbursement Tracker uses closed binary data structures, meaning generic converters cannot map the internal rows and columns. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data into a usable spreadsheet format. Our system inspects the internal content, extracting plain text from scripts or detecting supported embedded database structures in proprietary files so you can bypass annoying software limits.

Convert.Guru analyzes your REB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The REB Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our REB converter.
