About QR files
The .QR file format primarily serves two very different functions. It is most frequently used for proprietary reports generated by QuickReport, a set of components used by developers to design and preview reports in Delphi and C++Builder. Alternatively, a .QR file is simply a Quick Response code image. These image files contain standard PNG internal structures but use the custom extension to denote their content. A minor share of these files represents Quaver Replay files used in the open-source rhythm game Quaver.
The main disadvantage of the QuickReport .QR format is that it is highly proprietary. Users receiving a QuickReport file cannot open it without a dedicated viewer or the original database application. It requires specific software environments and is not supported by standard office software or web browsers. For this reason, users need to convert these files into standard, shareable formats. The most logical conversion target for a report is PDF to lock the layout and text formatting. For QR code images, converting or renaming to PNG or JPG guarantees universal compatibility.
Because QuickReport files are closed formats deeply tied to their originating database applications, standard online converters often fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the complex layout data. However, convert.guru serves as a pragmatic workaround for file challenges. Drag and drop your .QR file to see what it is, inspect the internal file signature, and extract readable text. If our analysis detects an embedded standard format (like a standard PNG image), viewing or direct conversion is instantly possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your QR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert QR file to LINK, URL, TEXT, KSH, RS, JPG, PDF, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or TIF, you can use QuickReport or similar software from the "Database Report or Image File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert RAW, PNG, AI, NEF, PSB, DNG, SVG, GIF, EPS, JPG, ARW or PDF files to QR, try QuickReport or another comparable tool in the "Database Report or Image File" category.
The QR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our QR converter.
