About PZL files

A .PZL file is a proprietary data container utilized by various desktop jigsaw puzzle games. It typically bundles a high-resolution base image, vector paths that define puzzle piece cutlines, and player save state metadata. These files are generated by independent and fragmented applications such as Jigsaw Planet, Yadabyte Jigsaw Puzzles, Puzzles Iku, and Tibo Software. The fundamental disadvantage of the .PZL format is its extreme proprietary lock-in. Because multiple developers adopted the exact same .PZL extension for entirely different, incompatible coding structures, a file saved in one program will often fail to open in another. Furthermore, these files are completely inaccessible on modern mobile devices, web browsers, or standard image editing software. They trap your images inside outdated legacy environments. To regain access to the embedded pictures, you must extract the container's contents. For standard viewing and editing, convert the file to JPG or PNG.
