A .PZA file is a PhotoSuite Album file originally created by MGI PhotoSuite (later acquired by Roxio and Sonic Solutions). It utilizes a Microsoft Compound File Binary Format to organize photo collections, album layouts, and related metadata.
The main disadvantage of the .PZA format is that it is strictly proprietary and effectively obsolete. MGI PhotoSuite has been discontinued for decades, meaning modern operating systems, web browsers, and default image viewers cannot open these files natively. Because a .PZA is a project container rather than a standalone image, it traps your photos inside a closed, legacy software ecosystem.
Users typically need to convert .PZA files to recover the enclosed images as standard JPG or PNG files, or export the album presentation to a PDF. Standard online converters invariably fail because they expect standard raster image headers, not a complex OLE compound document.
