About PXR files

The .PXR file extension is most commonly a proprietary layered raster image generated by photo editing software such as Pixlr or Pixelmator. In enterprise environments, a .PXR file functions entirely differently as an XML-based report stylesheet used by Pronto Software and MYOB. Historically, this extension was also used for the Pixar Image File format to store output from 3D graphic rendering engines.

The main disadvantage of .PXR image files is their severe lack of universal support. You cannot view them natively in web browsers, insert them into text documents, or open them on standard mobile devices. They trap your image data inside a proprietary ecosystem.
