About PXB files

A .pxb file typically stores an LED lighting effects project created in LedEdit, saving light animations and grid configurations in a UTF-16 (LE) encoded format. Alternatively, it serves as a Pixelmator Brush File used to store custom digital brush settings for the macOS image editor Pixelmator. You can open the LED project files using LedEdit, while the brush files require Pixelmator. The .pxb format is highly proprietary and frustrating to share. LedEdit files are tied to specific controller hardware and cannot be opened by standard text editors or previewed on the web. Pixelmator brushes are locked into the Apple ecosystem, meaning Windows users cannot use them natively in Adobe Photoshop. You cannot preview either file type on your phone without specialized apps. For LED projects, convert them to binary formats like BIN or DAT for the LED controllers, or extract the text data to TXT or CSV for review.
