About PSH files
The .PSH file extension most commonly represents a ProShow Slideshow Project created by the now-defunct Photodex. These files are essentially recipes - XML-based instructions that tell the software which photos to display, what transitions to use, and how to time the music. They do not contain the actual images or audio files, which means a 100KB .PSH file is useless if the original source media has been moved or deleted from your computer. Since Photodex shut down in 2020, users are often left with locked projects they cannot export. The only reliable way to "convert" these to a viewable format like MP4 or AVI is to open them in the original ProShow software or its successor, Photopia, and render the video.
Alternatively, a .PSH file may be a Punch! Home Design file used for architectural modeling. These proprietary CAD files are restricted to the Punch! Software ecosystem. To share these designs with contractors or clients who don't own the software, you should open the project in Punch! and export it to a standard format like DXF for CAD interoperability or PDF for viewing. Less frequently, .PSH refers to a Pixel Shader file used in DirectX development, which is simply a plain text file containing code that can be edited in any text editor like Notepad++.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PSH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted PXC, W32, VSH, RAR, MP4, P7S, EXE, PRO and PB1 files.
The PSH Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PSH converter.
