About PRZ files
The .prz file extension is a highly fragmented format. Primarily, it is a legacy presentation file created by Lotus Freelance Graphics, a discontinued office suite later acquired by IBM. Additionally, a large portion of .prz files are standard ZIP archives used by industrial software like Control Techniques CTSoft, Schneider Electric Concept, or CAD tools like Pro/ENGINEER to store project backups. Finally, it is used by CHITUBOX to store sliced 3D printer files for Phrozen hardware. Because it is a proprietary, legacy format, Lotus .prz files are essentially obsolete. They lack modern web browser support, cannot be opened natively by Microsoft PowerPoint, and require finding 30-year-old software to view reliably. To modernize these files, converting .prz to PDF or PPTX is highly recommended, though complex animations and proprietary vector shapes are almost always lost during translation. For the industrial archive variants, standard extractors will fail unless the extension is manually changed. Due to this file extension overloading, standard online converters routinely crash when processing .prz files. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data.
