A .GRA file is most frequently a proprietary graph file generated by National Instruments Multisim (formerly Electronics Workbench). While essential for reviewing circuit behavior within the NI Multisim environment, they are notoriously difficult to share with colleagues who do not have the software installed. The format is effectively locked, meaning you cannot simply double-click to view the graph in standard tools like Excel or web browsers.
Beyond electronics, the .gra extension is a "container of doom" used by several other legacy and industrial applications, adding to user confusion. It may be a Building Automation graphic from Trane Insight software (often using a Microsoft Compound structure), a structural analysis file from Graitec Advance Design, or even a legacy Microsoft Graph object extracted from old Office documents.
