Convert PNC to another file type
To convert PNC images to another format, you need Cabinet Vision or other Other software.
Convert a file to PNC
To convert other file formats to the "Camera Image / Project File" file type, you need software like Cabinet Vision or a similar tool.
About PNC files
The .PNC file extension is primarily used for two completely different purposes: a Panasonic Network Camera Image file or a Cabinet Vision Project file. Panasonic Network Cameras generate .PNC files to store captured security snapshots. Alternatively, Hexagon Cabinet Vision uses .PNC files (built on the JetDB database engine) to store 3D cabinet designs, material lists, and CNC machine instructions.
Both formats present major disadvantages in modern workflows. Panasonic's image format is proprietary and cannot be opened natively by Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers, which makes sharing security snapshots highly frustrating. The Cabinet Vision project file is strictly locked to an expensive, specialized CAD/CAM software. You cannot open it without a Cabinet Vision license, and it contains complex relational data that standard 3D viewers cannot process.
To share Panasonic images, converting them to JPG or PNG is the best target solution. For Cabinet Vision projects, you must export from within the software to standard manufacturing formats like DXF, DWG, or PDF for blueprints. Be aware that exporting to flat CAD formats strips away the parametric CNC toolpath data.
This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert. Standard online converters fail to process .PNC files because they lack the proprietary decoding algorithms for the legacy camera wrappers and the Hexagon JetDB database structures. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. convert.guru can identify the file format, inspect the binary file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PNC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PNC file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Cabinet Vision or similar software from the "Camera Image or CAD Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to PNC, try Cabinet Vision or another comparable tool in the "Camera Image or CAD Project" category.
The PNC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PNC converter.
