About P2G files
A .P2G file is a proprietary disc-burning project created by CyberLink Power2Go. Think of it as a recipe rather than a meal; it contains the layout of a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray and file paths (e.g., C:\Photos\Image.jpg), but rarely holds the actual media content itself.
The biggest obstacle with .P2G files is the dependency on the host environment. Because the file relies on absolute paths to assets on your hard drive, moving the .P2G to another computer - or deleting the source files - often renders the project useless. Furthermore, it is strictly locked to the CyberLink ecosystem; you cannot open this file in VLC Media Player or mount it like a standard disk image.
For archiving or broader accessibility, the best workflow is to open the project in Power2Go and burn it to a virtual ISO image. An ISO encapsulates the actual data into a single file that is universally supported by operating systems and archiving tools.
Convert.Guru analyzes your P2G file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert P2G file to ISO, IMG, DMG, VHD, VMDK, VDI, HDD, QCOW, QCOW2, RAW, VBOX or OVA, you can use CyberLink Power2Go or similar software from the "Disc Burning Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert VFD, DMG, OVA, IMA, VBOX, ADF, PVS, VHD, OVF, ISO, DSK or IMG files to P2G, try CyberLink Power2Go or another comparable tool in the "Disc Burning Project" category.
The P2G Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our P2G converter.
