.NSR files typically function as a Nutritional Status Report Database or a Nessus Security Report File. The nutritional variant stores dietary and patient tracking data using the underlying ACCDB (Access Database Engine) architecture. The security variant stores network vulnerability scan results.
These files are managed by specific healthcare applications utilizing the Advantage Database Server (ACE), or by Tenable Nessus for cybersecurity audits.
Both formats are highly restrictive. Nutritional .NSR files require the original database engine to process queries. Nessus files require an active Tenable installation to render the scan data into readable dashboards. Standard text editors will only display scrambled binary data or massive, unreadable XML blocks. Sharing these raw files with external clients or non-technical staff is almost impossible because they require the parent software to open.
You must extract or convert these files to universal formats to make the data usable. Convert database tables to CSV or XLSX for general data analysis. Export Nessus vulnerability scans to PDF or HTML for executive reporting and compliance audits.
Because these are specialized, closed formats, standard online converters fail to process them. They simply lack the specific database drivers required.
