Convert a file to NRV

To convert other file formats to the "Disc Authoring Project" file type, you need software like Nero Video or a similar tool.

About NRV files

A .NRV file is a proprietary project file created by Nero Video or the legacy NeroVision Express software. It is strictly a "recipe" file used to author Video CDs (VCDs), Super Video CDs (SVCDs), or DVD slideshows.

The Problem: It's Not a Video

Users often mistake .NRV files for playable video (like MP4 or AVI), but they cannot be opened in standard media players like VLC Media Player or uploaded to YouTube. The file is typically small (under 1MB) because it contains only metadata: timeline settings, menu structures, and file paths pointing to the actual video and audio clips stored elsewhere on your computer. If you move an .NRV file to a new computer without the original source media, the project will break.

The Solution: Exporting to Common Formats

To convert an .NRV file, you must have the original Nero software installed and the source media assets available.

Convert.Guru analyzes your NRV file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted IMA, UDF and CUE files.
