About NOTE files

The .note file extension is primarily used to store digital note data, most notably by the Apple Notes and Samsung Notes ecosystems. These files act as containers for rich text, embedded images, checklists, and handwritten sketches. Depending on the source, a .note file might also belong to a Ratta Supernote e-ink tablet, the open-source Tomboy application, or the Notability iOS app. Users usually need to convert these files when migrating away from a specific hardware ecosystem, like moving from an iPhone to a Windows device. The biggest disadvantage of the .note format is that it is highly proprietary. Apple and Samsung intentionally lock these files to their respective platforms, meaning a .note file exported from an iPad cannot be natively opened on a Windows PC without using the original app ecosystem. Heavy multimedia files can also become quite large and difficult to share. The best target format for a .note file is .PDF to preserve the exact visual layout of handwritten notes and embedded images. For plain text extraction, converting to .TXT or .HTML is recommended, though you will lose all proprietary formatting and attachments. Because these are closed, proprietary formats, standard online converters usually fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Because many .note files are actually standard .ZIP archives in disguise or XML structures, our analysis can often detect the supported underlying or embedded format, meaning viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your NOTE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SDOCX, CNOTE, TXT, NOTES, PAGE, PDF, SNOTE, ZNOTE, PAGES, DOCX, RTF, NP and MD files.
