About NMM files
The .NMM file extension is primarily used for Samsung Memo Backup files generated by the NMemo application, which stores personal notes and desktop memos from Samsung mobile devices. Users typically manage these files using official sync software like Samsung Smart Switch or older Samsung PC Studio applications. The primary disadvantage of the .NMM format is its proprietary, closed nature. It deliberately locks your personal text data into the Samsung hardware ecosystem. You cannot natively open or edit these files on iOS, stock Android, macOS, or Windows without specialized software, meaning you lose access to your own notes if you switch smartphone brands. The best target formats for conversion are .TXT for universal plain text recovery, .MD for basic formatting, or .PDF for secure document preservation, though embedded images or specific text styling will likely be lost. Because this is a closed, proprietary database format, standard online converters consistently fail to process it. Often only the original Samsung software can properly read or export the data.
