Convert NLB to another file type
To convert NLB Libraries to another format, you need Nucleonica or other Data software.
Convert a file to NLB
To convert other file formats to the "Software Library File" file type, you need software like Nucleonica or a similar tool.
About NLB files
The .NLB file extension is primarily associated with Nuclide Library Data files used by Nucleonica, a specialized web-based nuclear science portal. It stores critical decay data, cross-sections, and other precise nuclear physics parameters. A secondary, but notable use is the MyDraw Binary Library, created by Nevron Software, which stores custom shapes, icons, and stencils for the MyDraw diagramming application.
Both applications use .NLB as a closed, proprietary binary format. This creates significant disadvantages for users. For Nucleonica, the data is locked behind specific software, preventing easy analysis in standard statistical tools. For MyDraw, the binary format traps your vector shapes inside the application, meaning you cannot natively share your custom stencils with colleagues using standard tools like Microsoft Visio. The files are not human-readable, not supported by web browsers, and will display garbled text if forced open in a standard text editor.
Users often need to convert .NLB files into standard text, CSV, XML, or SVG formats to extract the underlying data or vector graphics. However, standard online converters usually fail because they lack the proprietary parsing logic for these rare file structures. This file format is difficult to open or convert because often only the original software can properly read or export the exact schema.
Despite these limits, just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to see what it is and convert it if supported. Our tool can identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NLB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert NLB file to ALB, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT or DB, you can use Nucleonica or similar software from the "Nuclide or Diagram Library Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to NLB, try Nucleonica or another comparable tool in the "Nuclide or Diagram Library Data" category.
The NLB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NLB converter.
