Extract text from NBI files

The .NBI file extension is primarily associated with Nero BackItUp, a popular tool for creating safe copies of system data. Technically, this is a Nero BackItUp Information file - a critical index that functions as a catalog for your backup job. It does not contain your actual photos or documents; instead, it stores metadata in XML format that tells the software where your files are located within the accompanying NBA (archive) or NCO (compressed) files.
Users often encounter this file when trying to restore old backups, only to find they cannot open it with standard tools like Microsoft Word or WinZip. Because the .NBI file is just a "map" of your data, you cannot convert it directly to PDF or JPG. The only practical workflow is to install Nero BackItUp, use the "Restore" function to extract your original files (e.g., DOCX, JPG), and then convert those extracted files if needed.
