About MMRC files

The .MMRC file format primarily functions as a game modification package for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. These files are typically handled by GTA Mod Manager or the Multi Theft Auto multiplayer modification. A less common use for the .MMRC extension is as a MIDI Remote Configuration file for MADRIX, a professional LED lighting control software.

The main disadvantage of the .MMRC format is its strict, proprietary nature. It requires the original, highly specialized software installed on a Windows PC to read and apply the data. Users often struggle to inspect the contents of these files because they are not supported by standard operating systems, mobile devices, or web browsers. You cannot preview what 3D models, scripts, or textures a mod contains without installing it into the game directory first, which can be annoying and occasionally risky.

To view the actual contents, the best target formats are standard archives. Many mod packages are simply renamed compressed folders. Extracting the file to a ZIP or RAR format allows you to access the underlying TXD (textures) and DFF (3D models) files. For MADRIX configuration files, users may prefer to extract the raw text or XML data to read the MIDI device mappings directly.

This file format is difficult to open or convert because it acts as a closed, application-specific container. Standard online converters fail to process it because they do not understand the game engine logic or the proprietary software requirements. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MMRC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ZIP, EXE, DFF, XPS, MRC and PNG files.
