Convert MAE to another file type
To convert MAE Data files to another format, you need Sage 100 or other Data software.
Convert a file to MAE
To convert other file formats to the "Financial or Chemical Data" file type, you need software like Sage 100 or a similar tool.
About MAE files
The .MAE file extension primarily represents two entirely different proprietary data formats: an Accounting Data File used by Sage 100 Comptabilité and a Molecular Structure Data File used by Schrödinger Maestro. In the financial sector, these files store ledgers, transaction histories, and company accounts. In computational chemistry, they store complex 3D molecular modeling data and atomic properties. The main disadvantage of the .MAE format is its strict software lock-in. Sage accounting files are highly proprietary, require expensive recurring software subscriptions to access, and cannot be natively queried by standard database tools. Similarly, Schrödinger molecular files cannot be opened by standard operating systems or web browsers without specialized scientific software. To bypass these restrictions, you often need to convert the files. For financial analysis and auditing, convert accounting .MAE files to CSV or XML to easily open the data in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. For chemical data archiving or sharing, convert molecular .MAE files to standard PDB (Protein Data Bank) or MOL files, which are widely supported by open-source 3D viewers. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MAE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MAE file to MSE, EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP or SAV, you can use Sage 100 or similar software from the "Accounting Data & Molecular Modeling" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to MAE, try Sage 100 or another comparable tool in the "Accounting Data & Molecular Modeling" category.
The MAE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MAE converter.
