About M2S files

A .M2S file is primarily a proprietary mouse and keyboard macro script used to automate repetitive desktop tasks by recording clicks and keystrokes. Less commonly, it serves as a customized interface skin for the legacy Maxthon 2 web browser. You can open and edit these macro scripts using specialized automation tools like ReMouse or JitBit Macro Recorder. Maxthon skins require the discontinued Maxthon browser to function properly. The .M2S format is highly closed and proprietary, which locks users into specific ecosystems. You cannot easily read these files in a standard text editor, and sharing them requires the recipient to purchase and install the exact same version of the macro software. Ideally, users want to convert .M2S to TXT or XML to read the raw coordinate data, or to open-source scripting formats like AHK. For Maxthon files, the goal is extracting the theme assets to ZIP.
