The .M1PG file format is a proprietary video container primarily used by Media 100 iFinish, a professional non-linear video editing system for Windows that was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. These files store video clips, timelines, and project metadata captured or rendered during the editing process.
Historically, managing .M1PG files required Media 100 hardware accelerator boards (like the Vincent601 or P6000) and the original iFinish software running on an older Windows OS. Today, the format is entirely obsolete. Because it is a closed, proprietary file type, .M1PG files cannot be played in modern media players like VLC, nor are they supported by web browsers or current video editing suites like Adobe Premiere.
