About LZR files

The .LZR file is primarily a compressed automotive log file generated by Panasonic Automotive equipment. Engineers and mechanics use these files to store vehicle telemetry, system diagnostics, and software crash logs. In rare cases, a .LZR file is a legacy Crunch-Compressed LBR archive from older computing systems.

Reading these logs natively requires proprietary Panasonic diagnostic tools. This creates a major disadvantage for users. The .LZR format is closed, heavily restricted, and completely unreadable in standard text editors. Standard archive extractors like 7-Zip will usually fail to decompress modern automotive .LZR files. Users need to convert these files to standard TXT or CSV formats to analyze the data in Microsoft Excel. During conversion, the proprietary layout is lost, but the core telemetry data becomes readable.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert. Often, only the original manufacturer software can properly read or export the structured data. Standard online converters fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded compression format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LZR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SIX, TRU and TST files.

The LZR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LZR converter.
