The .LUP file format serves two distinct purposes. Most commonly, it is a Loupedeck application profile package. These files contain custom layouts, macros, and icon graphics used to configure the Loupedeck editing console for software like Adobe Lightroom or OBS Studio. Less frequently, .LUP extensions are used as Debian software packages managed by the APT package manager on Debian-based Linux distributions. A major disadvantage of the .LUP format is its proprietary binding. If you do not own a Loupedeck console or run the Loupedeck software, a native .LUP profile is useless and cannot be opened directly by standard operating systems. Similarly, a Debian .LUP package requires a Linux environment to execute or install. Both formats lock your data inside specialized software ecosystems.
