About LPB files
The .lpb extension is a "container" format shared by three distinct industries, creating significant confusion for users.
Industrial Labeling (30% share): Most commonly, these are Label Project Files created by BepopPC for MAX CPM-100 series printers. These files store vector cut lines, text, and thermal printing instructions. They are highly proprietary; attempting to open them in standard vector tools like Adobe Illustrator usually fails because the data is encoded specifically for MAX's plotter hardware.
Aviation (22% share): Users of LogTen Pro, the leading electronic pilot logbook, use .lpb files for backups. Crucial Tip: These are often standard ZIP archives in disguise. If you cannot open your logbook backup, you can often simply rename the extension from .lpb to zip to extract your flight data in SQL or CSV format without needing the original iOS app.
Laser Engraving (18% share): LaserPecker devices use this format to store project settings (power, depth, speed) and image data. These are binary files locked to the LaserPecker Design Space (LDS) and cannot be viewed in third-party viewers.
Conversion Best Practices:
For Labels (MAX): There is no direct converter. You must install BepopPC, open the file, and use the "Print" function to select a virtual printer (like Microsoft Print to PDF) to create a viewable PDF proof.
For Logbooks (LogTen): Rename to zip and extract. You will find a database file that can be converted to Excel or CSV using a database viewer.
For Laser Projects: Open in LDS, then export the graphic assets to PNG or SVG if you need to edit the design in other software.

The LPB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LPB converter.
