Convert LNM to another file type
To convert LNM materials to another format, you need Lumion or other 3D software.
Convert a file to LNM
To convert other file formats to the "Material File" file type, you need software like Lumion or a similar tool.
About LNM files
The .LNM file is a proprietary material format used by Lumion, a highly popular real-time 3D architectural rendering software. It stores critical surface rendering parameters, including diffuse colors, normal maps, reflectivity, glossiness, and weathering effects applied to 3D models.
This format has significant disadvantages. It is completely proprietary and heavily locked into the Lumion ecosystem. Files often require a commercial software license costing thousands of dollars just to open and view the surface properties. Furthermore, .LNM files are not supported by web browsers, standard image viewers, or competing 3D software suites like Blender or Autodesk 3ds Max.
Users typically need to convert this file to extract the underlying texture images (such as JPG or PNG) or to translate the material logic into standard generic formats like MTL or MAT for use in other engines. However, because this file format is difficult to open or convert, standard online tools fail. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded image format within the binary structure, viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LNM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted JPG, INN, LME and LS11 files.
FAQ
If you want to convert LNM file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Lumion or similar software from the "3D Material Settings Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to LNM, try Lumion or another comparable tool in the "3D Material Settings Storage" category.
The LNM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LNM converter.
