About LK files
The .LK extension is a multi-purpose file primarily used for submitting Belgian annual VAT client listings to the Belgian FPS Finance via their Intervat portal. Under the hood, this file is just a standard ZIP archive containing XML data. Alternatively, the .lk extension is used as a database dictionary or lock file by Revelation OpenInsight, or as a save file for the video game Laika: Aged Through Blood.
The main problem with .LK files is their ambiguity. Because the Belgian government uses a custom extension instead of ZIP, the file cannot be opened by standard archive utilities unless you manually rename it. This makes it frustrating for accountants who want to verify the contents of their tax submission before uploading. Database lock files are equally annoying, as they are proprietary, lack human-readable data, and often get left behind when a database crashes, preventing system access.
For tax archiving and auditing, you should convert or extract the .LK file to ZIP, pull out the underlying XML data, and convert it to PDF for reading or XLSX for spreadsheet analysis. Drop your file here to analyze and convert it securely right in your browser.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The LK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LK converter.
