The .LI file extension primarily represents a Layout Inspector Snapshot generated by Android Studio or the memory leak detection library LeakCanary. These files capture a static instance of an Android application's view hierarchy and memory state at a specific moment in time. Developers use them to debug UI rendering issues, analyze view attributes, or investigate memory leaks without keeping the app running. The file format is often a serialized binary Java object, which makes it extremely difficult to open outside of the specific development environment that created it.
A major catch is that .LI files are version-sensitive; a snapshot created in an older version of Android Studio often fails to load in newer versions, rendering the data inaccessible. Furthermore, they are not standard image files, meaning you cannot simply double-click to view the layout.
