About LGT files
The .LGT extension is a classic example of a "filename collision," where the same extension is used for completely different purposes depending on the source software. Most commonly (approx. 20%), these are Application Downloader Log files generated by the Vivo AFtool, a utility used for flashing firmware onto Vivo smartphones. In this context, the file is a simple plain text container recording process events, yet because of the obscure extension, standard text editors like Microsoft Notepad do not recognize it automatically, forcing users to manually select an application or rename the file.
Alternatively, if you are a gamer or modder, your .LGT file is likely a Game Texture or Lighting Setting file (approx. 21% combined share). In titles like Serious Sam by Croteam, these files serve as texture images (often technically identical to Truevision Targa or TGA files) or lighting configurations for the game engine. Similarly, Age of Mythology uses this format for level lighting definitions. These proprietary assets are essentially "locked" to the game; you cannot double-click to view them in a web browser or standard photo viewer. For the log files, converting to PDF is ideal for archiving diagnostic history without risk of modification. For game assets, converting to PNG or JPG renders the texture viewable and editable in standard design software like Adobe Photoshop.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LGT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The LGT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LGT converter.
