Extract text from LGM files

The .LGM extension is most frequently associated with LongoMatch, a professional sports video analysis tool used by coaches and scouts. These are project files, not video files. They contain metadata - timestamps, drawing layers, tactical tags, and team lineups - stored in UTF-8 text format (often XML or JSON structure).
A critical limitation for users is sharing this file: sending a solitary .LGM file to a colleague often results in an error because the file only references the location of the actual video on your hard drive; it does not contain the video footage itself. To share the analysis, you must open the project in LongoMatch and use the "Export" function to bake the drawings into a standard MP4 video or export the statistics to XLS (Excel) or CSV.
In industrial settings, .LGM files may also be proprietary machine programs for Logica Knitting Systems. These files control the needle selection and yarn tension on CNC knitting machines and can only be opened by the specific controller software provided by Logica Innovation.
