About LGH files
The .LGH file extension is primarily associated with LG Smart Appliance Log files generated by the LG HomeChat service. These files record usage metrics, error states, and communication logs between smart home devices and the central server. Alternatively, an .LGH file may be a game graphics data archive used by Firefly Studios' Stronghold series, or a proprietary HMI Historical Log File generated by Wonderware (now AVEVA) industrial control systems. The primary disadvantage of the .LGH format is its proprietary, closed-source nature. Whether it is an encrypted smart appliance log, a compiled binary graphics archive, or a specialized industrial database, the file is virtually useless outside its native ecosystem. These files cannot be natively opened by standard web browsers or operating systems, making data extraction incredibly frustrating for end users. Because .LGH files are highly specialized, direct conversion to typical office formats like PDF or DOCX is generally not practical. If the file is a plain-text log, the best conversion target is TXT or CSV for data analysis. For Stronghold game files, specialized community modding tools are required to extract the internal graphics into PNG or BMP formats. Wonderware logs must be exported to CSV using native AVEVA historical data viewers.
