About LFT files

The .LFT extension typically represents proprietary CAD/CAM cutting designs created by Elitron software or Lasercut 5.3 systems used in industrial leather, textile, and laser manufacturing. These files contain precise 2D vector paths and machine instructions that are unintelligible to standard design tools. Because they are strictly tied to specific cutting hardware, users often find themselves unable to view the geometry without access to the original machine controller or expensive manufacturing suites.

Another common source is AutoCAD, where .LFT files serve as Layer Filter exports, storing complex layer organization logic that cannot be opened as a drawing. Less frequently, they may be label formats for Essae-Teraoka weighing scales or legacy Linux console fonts.

Best Conversion Targets:

When dealing with AutoCAD Layer Filters, these are not strictly "converted" but rather imported back into an active .DWG session to restore layer states.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LFT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted LEN, WDS, PEC and LM files.

The LFT Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LFT converter.
