.KTT files primarily function as proprietary game data assets, storing character pose data, textures, or game mechanics for titles like Karryn's Prison, Town of Salem, and occasionally The Legend of Zelda. In a smaller number of cases, the extension is used to store karaoke lyrics and timing for Kanto Karaoke or tablatures for kalimba instruments. The biggest disadvantage of the .KTT format is its highly fragmented and proprietary nature. These files are not standardized across platforms, meaning a .KTT file from one game will not open in another, and they are completely unreadable by standard image viewers or text editors. Users typically need to convert these files to extract usable internal textures (such as PNG) or to read the raw text data for modding purposes. When converting or extracting .KTT files to standard image formats like PNG or JPG, be aware that any game-specific 3D mapping, pose metadata, or engine-specific coordinates will be lost.
