About KOR files

A .kor file typically falls into one of three distinct categories, creating significant confusion for users trying to open one.

  1. Körber WMS Log (Most Common): In enterprise environments, this is a compressed error log generated by Körber Supply Chain software (formerly HighJump). These files are essentially standard GZIP archives renamed with a .kor extension. Users often need to convert these to TXT or LOG formats to debug warehouse systems, but standard text editors like Notepad++ display them as unreadable binary gibberish.
  2. Mstar Game Data: Players of Mstar Online encounter these as proprietary data files containing game assets. These are locked files not meant for direct editing.
  3. Windows System File: A file named noise.kor is found in the Microsoft Windows System32 folder, acting as a "noise-word" list for Korean language indexing services.
