JWL files are proprietary project templates primarily associated with SureThing CD Labeler and Roxio Creator, used to design inserts for CD and DVD jewel cases. These files function as containers (often based on the Microsoft Compound storage format) that hold layout geometry, text, track lists, and imported graphics.
A key problem with .JWL files is their lack of interoperability. Unlike standard image formats, a .JWL cannot be opened in Adobe Photoshop, web browsers, or generic image viewers.
