About JPH files
The .JPH file format generally represents either a High Throughput JPEG 2000 (HTJ2K) image or a renamed standard JPEG file. The HTJ2K format is an advanced standard (Part 15 of JPEG 2000) engineered for extremely fast image decoding and encoding. It is frequently used in demanding environments like medical imaging, digital cinema, and massive digital archives. Alternatively, a small percentage of .JPH files are JProbe Memory Snapshots created by Quest software to debug Java applications.
Opening .JPH files natively is notoriously difficult. Modern web browsers like Chrome or Safari, and standard desktop image viewers on Windows or macOS, do not support High Throughput JPEG 2000 files out of the box. Users face immediate 'format not recognized' errors. To view them, you must install specialized, often expensive software utilizing Kakadu Software libraries or compile open-source tools like OpenJPH.
Because HTJ2K relies on complex mathematical block coding, standard online image converters fail to process the file headers. You must convert .JPH files to standard JPG or PNG formats to use them on the web or share them with clients. Converting to TIFF is recommended if you need to retain 16-bit medical imaging data without compression loss.
Drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. convert.guru will analyze the binary signature to determine if your .JPH is a disguised JPEG, a true HTJ2K image, or a legacy JProbe database. Even if the file is an unsupported proprietary developer snapshot, our analyzer will inspect the internal structure so you know exactly what you are dealing with.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JPH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted PNG, JPG, JPT, DEBUG and VAL files.

The JPH Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JPH converter.
