About JMM files

The .jmm file extension serves several completely unrelated functions depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it is a proprietary macro script used by Jitbit Macro Recorder or Jetech gaming peripherals to automate mouse clicks and keystrokes. Alternatively, it functions as a digital video file created by JVC Everio camcorders, a packaged communication activity archive used by Jabbla Mind Express, or a game localization resource manifest formatted as plain JSON text.

The main disadvantage of the .jmm format is its extreme fragmentation and proprietary lock-in. A Jitbit macro script is unreadable outside of its specific Windows software and cannot be natively executed on macOS. JVC video files often rely on proprietary wrappers that fail to play on standard web browsers or modern media players without specific codecs. Meanwhile, Mind Express files require expensive specialized educational software to function properly.

Conversion targets depend entirely on the file's internal structure. If your .jmm is a JVC video, you should convert it to an MP4 or MKV for universal playback. If it is a Mind Express activity file or a game resource, it is often actually a standard ZIP archive or JSON text file in disguise; converting or renaming the extension will let you extract the internal images and data. However, you cannot automatically convert a Jitbit macro into an open-source format.

This file format is difficult to open or convert because standard tools cannot easily determine which of the various formats you possess. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format (like an embedded ZIP or JSON text), viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JMM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TJS, AFL and CQL files.
