About JMF files

The .JMF file extension primarily serves two highly specialized purposes. Most commonly, it is an encrypted Radar Speed Camera file generated by Gatso Autovision systems. These files store telemetry, photographic evidence, and calibration data used by law enforcement. Alternatively, game modders use it as a Jackhammer Project created by J.A.C.K., a popular level editor for classic games like Quake and Half-Life.

Both formats are strictly proprietary and restrictive. Gatso files are tamper-evident packets designed solely for police adjudication systems, making them impossible to open with standard consumer software. J.A.C.K. maps contain raw 3D geometry, texture paths, and entity data that standard image or document viewers cannot render. Users typically need to convert .JMF game projects into compiled map formats to actually play the levels they design.

Standard online converters fail completely because they lack Gatso decryption keys and BSP compiling engines. For game files, the only reliable solution is to open the file in J.A.C.K. and export it to MAP, RMF, or VMF. For telemetry data, viewing requires official government software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JMF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BSP, MAP, ANOM, SVB and PCP files.
