About JGD files

A .jgd file is a proprietary gradient preset created by Jasc Software for Paint Shop Pro. It stores specific color stops, transition ranges, and opacity data used to apply continuous color blends across digital assets.

Because it is a proprietary settings file, the .jgd format suffers from severe compatibility limits. It is not a raster image. It contains mathematical settings rather than pixel data, meaning default OS viewers, mobile devices, and web browsers cannot display it. If you send a .jgd file to a client or colleague, they cannot preview the gradient unless they buy and install a compatible Corel product.

To share the gradient visually, you should render the color blend onto a blank digital canvas inside the software and export it to a standard PNG or JPG format. Direct conversion of the preset code to rival formats, such as Adobe's GRD, is technically difficult because the color rendering engines of different graphics software do not perfectly align.

This file format is difficult to open or convert externally. Standard online converters fail because they lack the specific rendering algorithms to translate the preset into pixels. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, convert.guru can still help. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view its internal structure, and convert it when possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JGD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted HEIC, JPG, PSPGRADIENT, JBR and PCN files.
