For industrial and structural design applications, it acts as a complex project container, frequently utilizing underlying GZIP compression. To properly open and edit these files, you need the original software. For code development, JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA automatically generates and updates these files in the background. For engineering and 3D modeling, Intergraph Smart 3D is the native, enterprise-grade application required to load the workspace.
