Convert IRI to another file type
To convert IRI Thermal images to another format, you need InfraTec IRBIS or other Camera Raw software.
Convert a file to IRI
To convert other file formats to the "Radiometric Thermal Image" file type, you need software like InfraTec IRBIS or a similar tool.
About IRI files
The .iri file is a proprietary radiometric thermal image format used primarily by InfraTec GmbH infrared cameras. It stores not just visual pixels, but raw temperature data for every single pixel in the frame. These files are natively opened using InfraTec IRBIS software or compatible tools like FLIR Tools. The .iri format is highly specialized and proprietary. It is strictly tied to expensive thermal analysis software and requires a specific environment to view. You cannot open it natively in Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers. Sharing these files with clients or colleagues who do not have a specialized software license is extremely difficult. Users typically need to convert .iri to JPG or PNG for visual reporting, or extract the radiometric data to CSV for statistical analysis in Microsoft Excel. Converting to standard images will lose the underlying temperature metadata, flattening the file into a simple picture. Because it is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the thermal matrix data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your IRI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert IRI file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use InfraTec IRBIS or similar software from the "Thermal Image Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to IRI, try InfraTec IRBIS or another comparable tool in the "Thermal Image Data Storage" category.
The IRI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our IRI converter.
