It is generated by iMazing, a specialized device management software developed by DigiDNA. To natively open or restore these files to a mobile device, you need the proprietary iMazing application.
The main disadvantage of the .IMAZING format is its proprietary software dependency. If you stop paying for a software license or switch to a different computer without the application installed, your backup data remains locked in an inaccessible file. Furthermore, these backups often exceed 50GB or 100GB, making them difficult to transfer, upload, or store efficiently on basic cloud drives.
