About IDD files

The .IDD file extension is utilized by multiple disconnected software applications, making it highly fragmented. The most common use is as an Automotive Diagnostic Data File generated by the Honda IDDAS system to record car sensor telemetry. It is also frequently used as an ID Card Design Project by IDCard Designer, storing badge layouts and employee photo references. Other niche uses include configuration scripts for Fluid Management paint dispensers or diagram data within legacy Mega-Pascal software.

Because these files are strictly proprietary, they come with significant disadvantages. They lock your data inside closed software ecosystems. For example, an .IDD badge project cannot be natively opened by standard vector tools like Adobe Illustrator, and automotive data logs remain completely unreadable outside dealership-level hardware. The files themselves lack standardized structural guidelines, meaning traditional online converters simply do not know how to parse their internal logic.

To make this data useful, you must export the files into universally accessible formats using their native software. If you are working with ID cards, export them from IDCard Designer to standard image or document formats like PDF, JPG, or PNG. Diagnostic vehicle data should ideally be exported to CSV or TXT for spreadsheet analysis.

Because .IDD is heavily undocumented and proprietary, it is exceptionally difficult to open or convert externally. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your IDD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
