About GRG files
A .GRG file is a proprietary automotive performance tune file, primarily used by DiabloSport Predator and inTune handheld programmers for flashing General Motors (GM) vehicles.
These files store critical calibration data for a vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU), including fuel mapping, spark advance, and transmission shift points. Tuners use them to back up stock firmware or load custom aftermarket tunes to optimize engine performance.
The biggest challenge with the .GRG format is its heavily restricted, closed-ecosystem nature. It is a compiled binary file that cannot be opened, edited, or converted using standard desktop software. In most cases, only authorized dealers utilizing DiabloSport's Chipmaster Revolution (CMR) software can actually read or modify the engine parameters.
Because it consists of specialized machine code meant for an automotive computer, standard online document or image converters will completely fail to process it. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. While you cannot transform an engine tune into a standard document, convert.guru can still inspect the file and show embedded text or internal content. If our analysis detects readable strings - such as VIN numbers, software versions, or tune metadata - viewing this hidden information may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GRG file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The GRG Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GRG converter.
