A .GPP file is most commonly a proprietary project file created by Artifact Interactive Garden Planner, a tool used for designing landscape layouts and paving plans. Unlike standard image files like JPG or PNG, a GPP file contains structured XML data describing the coordinates, dimensions, and attributes of plants, fences, and buildings.
Because .GPP files are strictly project data, they cannot be opened by standard image viewers, web browsers, or CAD software like AutoCAD directly. This can create major obstacles when sharing designs with clients or contractors who do not have the specific Garden Planner software installed. Users often find themselves locked out of their own designs if their software license expires or they switch computers.
To make these files usable, they must be converted. For client presentations or printing, converting to PDF is the industry standard. For web use or social sharing, converting to JPG or PNG is recommended. If you are dealing with a sanitary installation file, you likely have a Geberit ProPlanner file, which is a completely different format requiring Geberit software.
