To convert GPJ databases to another format, you need Bentley gINT or other Database software.
Convert a file to GPJ
To convert other file formats to the "Geotechnical Project Database File" file type, you need software like Bentley gINT or a similar tool.
About GPJ files
A .GPJ file usually represents a geotechnical project database created by Bentley Systems gINT. These files store soil testing data, borehole logs, and lab results using the JetDB internal format. Alternatively, the extension is used for Golden Software Grapher project files, Mitsubishi Electric PLC programming projects, or simply as a non-standard extension for standard JPG images. The main disadvantage of engineering .GPJ files is their proprietary nature. You cannot open a gINT or Grapher project file without an expensive software license. Files often contain complex internal relations. If you lack the exact desktop software, the data is locked away. Standard online converters fail because these files are not standard documents; they are complex relational databases or proprietary project states. If you need to share data, the best targets are CSV for raw data, PDF for exported reports, or standard JPG for images. Exporting from the native software is highly recommended to prevent data loss. Explain why this file format is difficult to open or convert. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GPJ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert GPJ file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Bentley gINT or similar software from the "Geotechnical Database & Project Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to GPJ, try Bentley gINT or another comparable tool in the "Geotechnical Database & Project Storage" category.
The GPJ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GPJ converter.
