The .GE3 file is a proprietary CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) geometry drawing file. It is primarily created by GOelan CAM software to store specific machining paths, tool operations, and 3D shape data for CNC manufacturing. Alternatively, it is occasionally used as a Gvie 3D model format.
This format has significant disadvantages. It is highly proprietary and heavily restricted. Files are unreadable by standard operating systems, web browsers, or common 3D modeling tools like Blender. Opening a .GE3 file usually requires an expensive, specialized desktop license. Sharing these files with clients or external vendors guarantees compatibility issues.
