About FCF files

The .FCF extension primarily identifies a Flowcode Project file created by Matrix TSL Flowcode. These files store visual flowcharts used to program microcontrollers (PIC, Arduino, ARM) without writing raw code. While highly effective for visual development, .FCF files are proprietary and binary-encoded (using the Microsoft Compound format), meaning they cannot be opened by standard text editors or IDEs. Users typically need to convert them to standard C (C source code) or HEX (machine code) to migrate logic to other compilers like MPLAB X or for documentation purposes.

A secondary but common use case is the T.A.R.G.E.T Profile for Thrustmaster flight simulation hardware. Unlike the Flowcode variant, these .FCF files are often XML-based configurations that map joystick inputs to key presses. Users frequently convert these to XML, JSON, or TXT to manually tweak sensitivity curves or share keybindings without relying on the heavy T.A.R.G.E.T GUI. In automotive contexts, .FCF files appear as system data in Ford Sync updates; these are internal resource lists and should generally not be modified.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FCF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted FCC, MPJ and WPP files.

The FCF Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FCF converter.
