About EZM files
The .EZM file extension primarily belongs to MarkingMate, an industrial laser marking software developed by Eastern Logic. It functions as a project file that stores vector designs, text, barcodes, and precise laser parameter settings like power, speed, and frequency. A secondary use is for LaserStudio LG, which also saves laser machine design files in this format. The main disadvantage of the .EZM format is its strictly proprietary nature. It is heavily tied to the specific software and hardware controller card used by the laser machine. You cannot open these files in standard graphic design programs like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Sharing an .EZM file with a client or a manufacturer using a different brand of laser software is practically impossible without the original environment. Users typically need to convert .EZM files into universal vector formats like DXF, SVG, or PDF for proofing, archiving, or migrating to different laser systems. Converting to standard vectors preserves the geometry but discards machine-specific laser settings like hatch patterns and toolpaths. Because this is a closed, undocumented format, standard online converters fail to process it. Usually, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded vector format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

The EZM Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EZM converter.
