About EWS files

The .EWS file extension is primarily generated by EasyWorship, a widely used church presentation software. These files serve as Service Schedules, acting as containers that organize the sequence of lyrics, scriptures, media, and PowerPoint slides for a specific worship service.

The Problem: .EWS files are proprietary and notoriously difficult to share. They are not compatible with standard office software like Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, or Apple Keynote. A worship leader cannot simply email an .EWS file to a guest speaker or a musician unless that person also owns a licensed, compatible version of EasyWorship. Furthermore, these files often function as "pointer" files - if the referenced videos or images are not packed properly, opening the file on a different computer results in "Media Not Found" errors.

The Solution:

For Sharing & Printing: Convert the schedule to PDF. This creates a universal, fixed-layout document ideal for musicians' setlists or AV team reviews.
For Editing: Convert to TXT or RTF to extract song lyrics and scripture references for use in bulletins or other software.
For Migration: Users switching to platforms like ProPresenter may need to extract raw text data to import their libraries.

Note: A smaller subset of .EWS files are encrypted instrument samples from EastWest Sounds. These are large, copy-protected audio data files that cannot be converted to standard MP3 or WAV formats.
