About END files

.END files primarily serve as game modification installer scripts for the Need for Speed (NFS) franchise. They contain specific binary instructions used by tools like NFSUnlimiter to patch game assets. A secondary use for this extension is as a data file for ComponentAce Absolute Database, which is a single-file relational database engine designed for Delphi developers.

Both versions of the .END format suffer from severe usability limitations. NFS mod scripts are undocumented, proprietary binary files tied exclusively to specific legacy game engines. Absolute Database files are locked into a closed Delphi ecosystem, often requiring a paid developer license or specific legacy software to open. You cannot open either file type in a standard web browser or text editor without seeing scrambled characters.

Users typically want to convert Absolute Database files to standard CSV or SQL to migrate the data into modern SQL servers or Excel. For game mod scripts, developers often try to decompile them into TXT to understand the patching logic, or extract packed assets to ZIP.

Because these are highly proprietary, closed formats, standard online converters always fail to process them. Typically, only the original game tools or the Absolute Database Manager can properly read or export the internal data. If our system detects a supported underlying text structure or embedded database format, viewing or extracting the contents may still be successful.

Convert.Guru analyzes your END file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted CEN, IDT and BBG files.

The END Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our END converter.
